Don't get me wrong, I HATE the wormy smell that always comes after an amazing thunderstorm...but I love the loud booms of thunder, the bright claps of lightning, the sound of the rain pounding on the roof, hitting the back deck, falling through the leaves in the trees. I love how green the grass looks after a good storm. The sound of cars driving through puddles...
Storms are relaxing. Dogs might cower behind furniture or pee on the carpet because they're scared, your kids might climb into bed with you...Open the blinds, and watch the storm. Watch the lightning strike, watch the rain fall, just watch the storm. It's nature and it's beautiful.

The smell of fresh cut grass
There's something about fresh cut grass that smells so good. I feel so bad for people allergic to fresh cut grass (how horrible must that be!?) because they can't just enjoy that smell. I love the feel of the grass (as long as it's not dry!). It's so refreshing, relaxing, and calm. At my apartment complex, they cut the grass on Thursday mornings. They water it Thursday late morning/early afternoon. It's the perfect time to go outside to take the dog for a walk. Soak up the natural, green smell. Just enjoy it.
...And the guy cutting the grass usually doesn't hurt either =]

Fog.
Fog is so beautiful and mysterious. It gives that creepy, eerie feeling, like you have no idea what's around the corner, or just up ahead in the area that just looks white. Even if you've been there, you know what's there, your heart is racing because there is an unknown. Your adrenaline is pumping through your ears and your face is hot while you walk through knee high grasses. Your eyes are strained and searching for lines and headlights and other cars as you make your way down the street you thought you knew so well. Of course it doesn't help that it's quiet. Why is it so quiet?? It's adding to that fear factor. And I love it.
